For the Vera Law project, I developed a modular grid system inspired by the Maya heritage of Yucatán. By studying the architectural forms of the region, I crafted a series of logo shapes that serve as an immediate cultural reference. Each form was a modern interpretation of lines and geometric designs from the area’s history, connecting the firm’s visual identity to its roots.
For the Typeface xFace project, I used 3D modeling tools to map and project type onto the surface of a human face. By leveraging software like Rhino and KeyShot, I transformed the contours and curves of facial features into dynamic letterforms. The process involved precise digital manipulation to ensure each character was shaped by the natural lines of the face, creating a unique and expressive typeface that blended human form with typographic design.
A typeface made from the sound of a heartbeat.
I recorded my own heartbeat and used pitch correction software to capture the rhythm in visual form. By analyzing the pitch curves generated by Melodyne, I transformed those curves into stencils for typographic design. Each letter was shaped by the unique beats of my heart, resulting in a typeface that is both personal and organic, with each character echoing the natural rhythm and flow of a human heartbeat.
